Monique Maye is a native of New York City, where she attended Brooklyn College and earned a degree in Political Science. She has a master’s degree in Sports Management and a Law degree from the Massachusetts School of Law. During her collegiate career, Ms. Maye lettered in softball and basketball. Beyond her collegiate years, she played and coached professional basketball in Europe. She also coached basketball at the collegiate level at Brooklyn College, New York City, and Northeastern University, Boston, Massachusetts.
Moreover, while building a client base spanning the national and international markets, Ms. Maye created basketball camps and tours for professional athletes to showcase their talents for international basketball scouts. She successfully negotiated program support from corporate sponsors.
Following law school, Ms. Maye established Maye & Associates Sports Management, representing a host of male and female basketball players transitioning from college to professional sports. Over the years, her firm has represented and marketed the NBA, WNBA, college coaches, and International athletes. She created an entertainment division where she consults artists with contract negotiation and marketing. Maye also advises playwrights, authors, and film producers.
With devotion to developing talent, Monique has spent several years as a Professor building the Sports Management program at Columbia College Chicago. Monique teaches in the Business & Entrepreneurship department, developing courses in Sports management, talent management, Sponsorship, and entertainment marketing.
